The fall resulted in a broken rib, specifically the sixth rib on her left side. “It was raining and I was running to grab some towels and had an extremely hard fall on some very slick tile I didn’t see,” she explained along with an x-ray of her injury. Fortunately, Musgraves noted, “Thankful I didn’t smack my head, but I landed very, very hard on my back left ribcage.”
In her post, Musgraves expressed that she is in quite a bit of pain, stating, “This s—t is no joke. I am in a lot of pain and doing ANYTHING is extremely difficult but I’m managing and being well taken care of.” To emphasize her struggle, she shared another slide showing the x-ray again, this time with the word “pain” marked on it.
Due to her injury, Musgraves confirmed that she must reschedule her upcoming performance at the Sing for Science event originally set for Sunday. She wrote, “There is no physical way I can get on a plane and fly back to Nashville.” The singer expressed her disappointment, saying, “I am extremely bummed to have to reschedule as I have been looking forward to this for months but there is literally no other option. I’m so sorry for the inconvenience.”
