Honda Motor Company Southern Africa and Ineos Automotive South Africa have announced a recall of five vehicle models, alerting the National Consumer Commission (NCC) due to detected defects. The recall concerns three Honda models—the Civic four-door sedan, the Civic five-door Type R hatchback, and the five-door CR-V SUV, produced from 2022 to 2025. These vehicles may experience issues with the electric power steering’s worm wheel, potentially leading to abnormal noise or steering sticking.

This global issue affects approximately 1.7 million vehicles, prompting Honda to recommend that consumers visit authorized suppliers to replace defective components. In addition to Honda’s recall, Ineos has also addressed concerns regarding its Grenadier SUV and Quartermaster bakkie.
