Tzu Xing Foundation Enhances Education in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
The TX Foundation, led by Liza Lin, hosted ceremonies on February 27, 2025, for classroom retrofitting and equipment donations in SVG, totaling nearly USD 110,000. On February 27th, 2025, the Tzu Xing Foundation, a charitable organization from Taiwan, conducted three significant ceremonies for classroom retrofitting and equipment donation in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, led by President Liza Lin. Accompanied by CEO Ms. Freda Miriklis and Secretary Ms. Anna Hsieh, they inaugurated a culinary vocational classroom and equipment at West St. George Secondary School, donated assistive devices for visually-impaired students at Fair Hall Government School, and inaugurated a science laboratory at Troumaca Ontario Secondary School. The total donation value approached USD 110,000.
These events were co-hosted by Hon. Curtis King, Minister of Education, and H.E. Fiona Huei-Chun Fan, Ambassador of R.O.C. (Taiwan) to SVG. Notable attendees included senior educational officers, the principals of the respective schools, and hundreds of engaged teachers and students. Hon. Keisal Peters and Hon. Carlos James, Ministers of Social Development and Tourism respectively, attended the ceremonies at West St. George Secondary School and Troumaca Ontario Secondary School.
Ambassador Fan expressed her gratitude for the philanthropic efforts of the TX Foundation, highlighting its role in enhancing mutual understanding between Taiwan and SVG. She encouraged local students and faculty to aspire for Taiwanese government scholarships, facilitating further educational endeavors in Taiwan.
Minister King praised the TX Foundation for its impactful contributions to improving education in SVG. He emphasized the critical nature of technical and vocational educational training (TVET), expressing hope that students would derive significant benefits from the newly equipped classrooms and maintain a lasting appreciation for the foundation’s support.
