The World Meteorological Centre Beijing (WMC-BJ) has reported that Tropical Cyclone “Jude” made landfall on the eastern coast of Mozambique at 08:00 Beijing time on March 10, 2025. The cyclone is anticipated to move westward at a speed of 10 to 15 kilometers per hour while rapidly losing intensity.

The regions affected by “Jude” are expected to experience heavy to torrential rainfall, particularly in central and northern Mozambique, as well as southern Malawi. Accumulated precipitation may reach between 100 to 200 mm, with some areas potentially experiencing rainfall exceeding 300 mm.

Wind gusts in central and northern Mozambique and coastal areas are predicted to reach levels 8 to 9. Near the center of the cyclone and over the Mozambique Channel, winds may escalate to grades 10 to 12, with gusts reaching as high as grades 13 to 14.

Additional figures in the report include a satellite infrared image monitoring the cyclone and forecasts on accumulated precipitation and wind intensity in southeastern Africa from March 10 to 15, 2025.
