The House of Representatives resolved the dispute between MPs Al-Jarrah and Al-Baqa’i after Al-Jarrah’s apology. The altercation started over Al-Jarrah’s expulsion from the Labor Party, leading to physical conflict. A parliamentary delegation intervened, facilitating the apology and resolution.
The House of Representatives has formally resolved the dispute between Members of Parliament (MPs) Muhammad Al-Jarrah and Qassem Al-Baqa’i. The resolution came after MP Al-Jarrah issued an apology to both Al-Baqa’i and the entire House, marking the end of the contentious situation.
The conflict emerged last Tuesday when MP Al-Jarrah attempted to physically assault MP Al-Baqa’i in his office within the Parliament. The disagreement reportedly originated from Al-Jarrah’s expulsion from the Labor Party, of which Al-Baqa’i is the deputy secretary-general. Al-Jarrah accused Al-Baqa’i of verbally insulting him during discussions regarding this expulsion.
The situation escalated significantly, culminating in a physical altercation where Al-Jarrah assaulted Al-Baqa’i. To mediate the situation, a parliamentary delegation led by MP Saleh Al-Armouti, which included seven other MPs, visited Al-Baqa’i at his residence last night. During this visit, Al-Jarrah expressed his apology, leading to the official resolution of the dispute.
The House of Representatives has successfully mediated an apology from MP Al-Jarrah to MP Al-Baqa’i, thereby concluding their dispute. This intervention reflects an effort to restore harmonious relations within the parliamentary body and emphasizes the importance of civility among representatives. The swift action by MPs in resolving this conflict demonstrates a commitment to maintaining order and decorum within the legislative framework.
