During Inlander Restaurant Week, I visited India House to explore its $35 menu. I enjoyed delicious appetizers, curry mains, and unique desserts such as carrot cake halwa and paan ice cream. The restaurant offers an extensive menu alongside the special, and reservations are recommended to secure a spot.

As anticipation builds for Inlander Restaurant Week, I embarked on a culinary adventure as the new food writer at the Inlander. My first destination was India House, located at 4410 S. Regal St. My sister and I eagerly sampled their $35 per person menu during our exploration of Spokane’s vibrant food scene.

We commenced our meal with two delectable appetizers: subudana pakore and singhara aloo tikki. The pakore, delicate fritters of tapioca and potatoes, complemented by herbs, were paired beautifully with three fritters of singhara made with water chestnut flour and an array of spices and fresh herbs, served with sweet and creamy dipping sauces.

For the main course, I chose the chicken methi mali while my sister opted for the vegetarian methi matter mali, featuring tofu and green beans. Both dishes boasted thick, creamy red curry enriched with fenugreek and ginger. We selected a medium spice level that built flavor progressively, served alongside naan and rice to relish the rich sauces.

Dessert consisted of carrot cake halwa, a unique take on my favorite sweet. This dish featured roasted carrots with nuts and cardamom, resulting in a texture that was pleasantly crumbly yet moist. It provided a guilt-free finish to our meal. My sister selected the paan ice cream, surprising our palates with its betel leaf essence and an enchanting mix of flavors from rose petal jam and coconut flakes, captivating us with every spoonful.

India House offers its standard menu alongside the $35 Restaurant Week special from Tuesday to Sunday, operating from 11 am to 9 pm across three locations. Reservations are advisable and can be secured by phone or via indiahouse.us.

In conclusion, my visit to India House during Inlander Restaurant Week was a delightful introduction to Spokane’s culinary offerings. The harmonious blend of flavors in each dish, from the appetizers to dessert, showcased the restaurant’s commitment to bringing authentic Indian cuisine. I encourage diners to experience this exceptional menu while making reservations to guarantee a memorable dining experience.
