As of February 4, 2025, several tropical cyclones are active in the Pacific region. Tropical Cyclone 11S (Faida), located near Madagascar, has issued its final warning, while Tropical Cyclone 13S (Vince) is situated east of Mauritius, and Tropical Cyclone 14S (Taliah) lies east-southeast of Cocos Islands. Additionally, Tropical Cyclone 15P near Fiji has also issued a final warning.
In the South Indian Ocean, Faida exhibits sustained winds of 25 knots with gusts up to 35 knots. Forecasts indicate it will move west-northwest toward northeastern Madagascar, making landfall in approximately 12 hours before entering the Mozambique Channel, where it may experience a brief intensification.
Tropical Cyclone 13S (Vince) maintains sustained winds at 95 knots with gusts reaching 115 knots. This system is expected to weaken due to land interaction but may regain strength once it re-enters the water.
Tropical Cyclone 14S (Taliah) presents sustained winds of 80 knots with gusts up to 100 knots, currently showing signs of a developing eye feature. Despite marginal environmental conditions, it benefits from warm sea surface temperatures and westward outflow.
In the Southwest Pacific, Tropical Cyclone 15S exhibits sustained winds of 35 knots with gusts to 45 knots. The system is deteriorating rapidly due to significant wind shear and dry air intrusion.
An area of disturbed weather, referred to as Invest 92P, is located west-northwest of New Caledonia. It demonstrates potential for further development, as environmental factors favor growth. Winds are estimated at 28 to 33 knots, with a high likelihood of becoming a significant tropical cyclone within 24 hours.
