This effort expands DPAN’s diverse lineup of locally assembled vehicles, demonstrating a significant step towards boosting automobile production within the country.

The Peugeot 3008 GT, an esteemed SUV notable for its exceptional design and performance, is equipped with a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine. The assembly process is occurring at DPAN’s advanced facility in Kaduna, significantly contributing to Nigeria’s automotive manufacturing landscape.

This initiative follows the inaugural assembly of the Peugeot 3008 model in Africa, which was established in Ghana in 2022. This assembly was part of a partnership among Citroën, Peugeot, and Silver Star Auto that began in 2019 aimed at expanding the brand’s influence across the continent.

DPAN reestablished Peugeot’s presence in Nigeria with the assembly of the Peugeot 301 at its Kaduna facility. Subsequently, the company has broadened its offerings, which now include the Landtrek pickup, the Peugeot 3008, the 5008, and the recently added 508 models.

Dangote’s venture into the Nigerian automobile sector began in 2016 when his group, in collaboration with the Kaduna State Government and the Bank of Industry, acquired a controlling interest in Peugeot Automobile. By 2017, he obtained a license to create a Peugeot assembly plant, and DPAN formally commenced operations in 2022.

With the Peugeot 3008 GT now in production, DPAN reaffirms its dedication to advancing local manufacturing within Nigeria’s automotive sector.

In summary, Dangote Peugeot Automobiles Nigeria Limited is significantly enhancing the local automobile industry by assembling the Peugeot 3008 GT model. This initiative expands the company’s vehicle lineup while promoting local production capabilities. Furthermore, DPAN’s establishment marks a pivotal advancement in Nigeria’s automotive landscape, driven by Dangote’s strategic collaboration with the Kaduna State Government and other stakeholders. The continuation of local manufacturing efforts sets a foundation for the future growth of Nigeria’s automotive sector.
