Chad Reed, a name synonymous with Supercross and Motocross fame, has recently joined ClubMX in a new consultant role. Reed’s career, which boasts numerous accolades, most notably as Yamaha’s most successful rider, showcases his work ethic as a motivational hallmark for aspiring athletes. Having migrated from Australia to the United States in 2002, he began shaping a remarkable racing career over the years.

His impressive resume includes titles like the Australian Junior Motocross Champion (1997), multiple Australian Supercross Championships, and notable performances at the Motocross of Nations. Reed’s long list of achievements also features the AMA Supercross Championship in 2004, an X-Games bronze in 2005, and multiple wins in World championships. Additionally, he holds the record for the most AMA Supercross starts, firmly placing him in the upper echelons of motocross history.

Following his participation in a Yamaha BLU CRU camp at ClubMX this April, Reed was visibly impressed with the facilities and its community. He shared, “I thought it would be a good idea to check it out. I have heard a lot of buzz about the facility over the years, and this opportunity came at the right time in our schedule. Yamaha has been like a big family to me in my career, so having a chance to give back a bit seemed like a good idea. Little did I know where it would lead.”

Reed’s family, including his wife Ellie and their three children Tate, Kiah, and Pace, also enjoyed their brief visit to ClubMX. After some fun at the facility, the family attended a Loretta Lynn’s area qualifier, ultimately agreeing that ClubMX “felt like home.” Their enthusiasm was evident as Tate dove into pickleball, Kiah socialized, and Pace enjoyed fishing while Reed contemplated his next steps.

Conversations with ClubMX owner Brandon Haas illuminated Reed’s intentions. “Chad asked me what it would look like if he stuck around and at first, I wasn’t sure what he meant. We threw a lot of ideas around,” Haas explained, emphasizing each party’s desire to make the partnership work. Reed’s extensive expertise in racing, coaching, and track preparation is expected to greatly enhance the facility’s offerings while he continues prioritizing his family’s involvement in amateur motocross.

In his new consultant role, Reed will collaborate closely with ClubMX staff and provide insights to pro riders based on his vast experiences. He is committed to balancing his professional responsibilities with family life, ensuring he remains an engaged parent amidst the bustling motocross world.
