This week, Montana is seeing cool weather with temperatures in the 40s to 60s, caused by a low-pressure system. Showers are prevalent, especially in eastern Montana, with unsettled conditions expected Thursday. However, temperatures are set to rise towards normal by Friday, with warmer weather anticipated next week.

Montana is experiencing a cool and unsettled week as temperatures remain significantly below normal. In eastern regions, the temperatures have dipped into the 40s, with other areas seeing only a slight improvement into the 50s and lower 60s. A large trough of low pressure is primarily responsible for these chilly conditions across the state.

Current weather radar indicates that showers are affecting the eastern third of the state, with some precipitation also appearing in western Montana. Winds are generally moderate, blowing between 5 to 15 miles per hour, but gusts can reach 20 to 30 miles per hour along and east of the divide, making conditions feel even cooler.

A retrograding low pressure system over the northern plains is drawing moisture back into eastern Montana. This weather pattern will persist into tonight, although forecasters indicate that the rain will conclude by tomorrow. Meanwhile, a separate weather system is on the move, expected to reach the western part of the state, causing a few showers primarily through Tuesday.

Looking ahead, this unsettled weather pattern is forecasted to continue later into the week, with additional showers expected on Thursday. But on a brighter note, temperatures are predicted to inch closer to normal by Friday, offering a slight reprieve from the chilly conditions.

Tonight, low temperatures are forecasted to hover around 30s to low 40s, while tomorrow’s highs will range from the 50s to lower 60s. By Friday, a warming trend is anticipated, with highs climbing into the 60s and lower 70s, bringing them back to seasonal norms. Predictions point towards much warmer weather set to arrive next week, offering some relief from the current cool spell.

Montana is facing a notably cool week influenced by a low-pressure trough. Eastern areas are particularly affected, experiencing temperatures in the 40s, while rain showers will likely persist throughout the week. As conditions shift, temperatures are expected to return to normal levels by the end of the week, with warmer weather on the horizon for the following week.
