Two film actors in Imo State, Nigeria, have died after consuming a meal of rice and wine at a party. An investigation is underway by the local police to ascertain the cause of their deaths. The two remaining actors are receiving treatment.

The Nigerian Police Force has confirmed the deaths of two film actors in Imo State following a meal consisting of rice and wine. An investigation has been initiated by the Imo State Command to determine the events leading to this tragic incident. Reports indicate that four actors were admitted to the Federal University Teaching Hospital, Owerri, where two were pronounced dead upon arrival.

According to Kaito Karisia, a witness, the movie director, who provided food and drinks, had retired for the night, leaving the actors and three women at the party. He awoke early the next morning to find two actors deceased and two others struggling for breath. The surviving actors are reportedly receiving treatment at the hospital.

Karisia shared that one of the surviving actors recounted that they had all consumed a meal provided by their host, accompanied by a sip of Calypso and wine. However, the deceased actors consumed more of the drink than their counterparts. The spokesperson for the police, DSP Henry Okoye, confirmed the unfortunate incident and noted that the situation is being investigated to understand the circumstances surrounding the actors’ deaths.

Okoye described the event as tragic and confirmed that the Commissioner of Police for Imo State, Aboki Danjuma, has ordered a pathologist to conduct tests on the deceased individuals to determine the cause of their deaths. Results from these tests will dictate the subsequent steps to be taken regarding this case.
