Tata EV Models Debut in Mauritius: Tiago, Punch, and Nexon EVs Launched

Tata.ev has launched its electric vehicle lineup, including Tiago.ev, Punch.ev, and Nexon.ev, in Mauritius through a partnership with Allied Motors. This is the first introduction of Tata’s EVs outside the SAARC region. The vehicles offer various battery options, impressive ranges, extensive warranties, and a complimentary charger, indicating Tata’s commitment to sustainable mobility in Mauritius.

Tata.ev has officially launched its electric vehicle (EV) lineup in Mauritius, which includes the Tiago.ev, Punch.ev, and Nexon.ev, in collaboration with Allied Motors. This marks the first introduction of Tata’s EV portfolio outside of the SAARC region, following its previous launch in Sri Lanka.

The Tata Punch EV is available in three variants: Smart, Adventure, and Empowered, along with several sub-variants. It offers battery options of 25 kWh and 35 kWh, with claimed ranges of 265 km and 365 km, respectively. Additionally, the Punch EV has achieved a 5-star safety rating in the Bharat NCAP crash tests.

The Nexon EV now features a 45 kWh battery, phasing out the previous 40 kWh model. It can recharge to 80 percent within an hour and has an operational range of 350-375 km. The newly updated Tiago EV is a compact hatchback equipped with a 24 kWh battery, offering a range of 190-210 km.

All the vehicles come with extensive warranties, offering 8 years or 160,000 km for the battery and motor, and 7 years or 150,000 km for the vehicles themselves. Customers also receive a complimentary 7.2 kW home charging wall box, enhancing the ownership experience.

Yash Khandelwal, Head of International Business at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., expressed excitement about this expansion. He stated, “We are thrilled to introduce our electric vehicle portfolio in Mauritius, marking our first international expansion beyond the SAARC region. With the government’s strong commitment to sustainable mobility, Mauritius holds strategic importance in our EV journey.” He emphasized Tata’s readiness to support India’s transition to electric mobility, supported by a diverse EV lineup and strategic partnerships.
