TATA has officially launched its electric vehicle (EV) lineup in Mauritius, partnering with Allied Motors, the leading automobile distributor in the country. This international expansion marks the first time TATA has ventured beyond the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) region. The newly introduced models include the Tiago.ev hatchback, Punch.ev compact SUV, and Nexon.ev compact SUV, all constructed on advanced high-voltage platforms.

Yash Khandelwal, Head of International Business at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, emphasized the strategic importance of Mauritius in TATA’s global electric vehicle initiative. He noted that TATA.ev’s success in India and neighboring SAARC markets positions the company favorably to assist Mauritius in its transition to electric transportation through a diverse range of vehicles in collaboration with Allied Motors.

James Ngan, Managing Director of Allied Motors, referred to the partnership as transformative for Mauritius’s automotive landscape. He stated that the TATA.ev range presents an excellent combination of performance and technology, complemented by robust after-sales support. Ngan expressed assurance that the introduction of these EVs will innovate transportation options within Mauritius while ensuring a superior ownership experience.

The Tiago.ev is marketed as an accessible, feature-rich entry-level electric vehicle, offering a real-world range of 190-210 kilometers along with rapid charging capabilities. The Punch.ev merges practicality with premium features, including a 26.03 cm Harman infotainment system and a range of 270-290 kilometers. The flagship model, Nexon.ev, boasts a range of 350-375 kilometers, swift acceleration (0-100 km/h in 8.9 seconds), and upscale amenities such as a 360-degree camera and a JBL audio system.

All TATA.ev models are backed by a comprehensive 8-year/160,000 km warranty on the battery and motor, alongside a 7-year vehicle warranty. Additionally, customers will benefit from a complimentary 7.2 kW home charging wall box. Allied Motors is committed to providing complete sales and after-sales support through its trained personnel, ensuring exceptional service standards for the new electric vehicle range.

TATA’s launch of the EV lineup in Mauritius represents a significant step in the global electric vehicle market, showcasing three innovative models designed for efficiency and performance. With strong local partnership and comprehensive support, TATA aims to make a mark on Mauritian automotive transportation, enhancing sustainable mobility solutions in the region.
