A minibus driver and several passengers were arrested after a Glock 9mm pistol was found on their bus in Shanta Creek. According to Police Headquarters, the driver, identified as Adrian Dailey, and his passengers were located at Shanta Creek along the Soesdyke Linden Highway. Police patrols, acting on specific information, conducted a search of the vehicle.
The firearm was located behind the driver’s seat inside a bag, which Dailey asserted did not belong to him. The identified passengers include various professionals and residents from different localities, including security personnel and supervisory roles at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA).
Despite being asked to retrieve their personal belongings, none of the passengers claimed ownership of the bag containing the firearm. Furthermore, each individual denied any knowledge of the weapon’s presence. Consequently, they were informed of the offense committed and arrested, subsequently being transported to the Timehri Police Station for further inquiry.
