Two men, Robert Cudjoe and Isaac Aidoo, were sentenced to three months imprisonment for conspiracy and theft of faulty car parts valued at GH¢17,500 at Bogoso junction. A third accomplice, Emma, is currently on the run. The case illustrates the importance of community vigilance in preventing theft.

On October 25, 2024, two men, Robert Cudjoe, aged 19, and Isaac Aidoo, aged 18, were sentenced to three months of imprisonment with hard labor by the Tarkwa District Court for their involvement in conspiracy and theft of faulty vehicle parts valued at GH¢17,500. Both individuals pleaded guilty to the charges before the court, presided over by Mr. Charles Owusu Nsiah.

The prosecution, led by Police Sergeant Enoch Assan-Donkoh, detailed how Cudjoe, Aidoo, and an accomplice named Emma—who remains at large—planned to steal various auto parts from the workshop of complainant Christopher Dorglo. On the night of the crime, they executed their plan, obtaining not only gearboxes from different vehicle models but also a defective battery and four water tanks.

The stolen items were concealed behind a storey building at Bogoso junction, where Aidoo later enlisted the help of tricycle rider Paul Balungo to transport them to Samahu. However, their operation was thwarted when a witness, Eric Wilson, encountered them as they prepared to leave and subsequently sought assistance. Cudjoe was apprehended at the scene, while Aidoo and Emma fled but were later pursued by law enforcement.

Police investigations confirmed Aidoo’s confession, in which he implicated Cudjoe and Emma as co-conspirators. Cudjoe and Aidoo are currently serving their sentences, while authorities continue efforts to capture the fugitive, Emma, to ensure he faces justice.

The case underscores the importance of community vigilance and collaboration with law enforcement in addressing theft and crime in local neighborhoods.

In summary, the Tarkwa District Court sentenced two individuals, Robert Cudjoe and Isaac Aidoo, to three months in prison for conspiring to steal faulty vehicle parts valued at GH¢17,500. Their operation, which included the theft of various auto components from a workshop, was interrupted by a vigilant community member. Police investigations are ongoing to apprehend the third accomplice, Emma, who remains at large, emphasizing the collective responsibility to combat crime.
