On March 19, 2025, Richard Jakpa, Director of Special Operations at the National Security Secretariat, reportedly led a raid on the residence of former Bank of Ghana Governor, Dr. Ernest Addison, with a group of 20 armed men. The incident occurred at Dr. Addison’s home located in the Roman Ridge area of Accra.

According to a report by AsaaseOnline.com, Dr. Addison was present during the raid when the heavily armed group arrived, some of whom were donned in balaclavas and armed with AK-47 semi-automatic rifles. The assailants disabled all CCTV cameras in the house, indicating a premeditated approach to the operation.

The armed men demanded that Dr. Addison take them to the vaults in his residence. In response, the former Governor, visibly taken aback, asserted that he possessed no vaults or caches of cash at home, as reported by AsaaseOnline.com.
