Uzbekistan has become the leading production hub for the Chevrolet Tracker crossover due to the closure of its production facilities in China, where demand has declined significantly. In Uzbekistan, the localization of Tracker production has reached 50%.

Uzbekistan has recently established itself as the primary production center for the Chevrolet Tracker crossover in the Eurasian region. This strategic shift is largely due to a halt in Tracker production in China, where declining domestic demand led to the closure of the SAIC-GM Norsom plant, previously responsible for its manufacture. General Motors had announced the closure of their Shenyang plant in northeastern China a month prior, which also produced the Buick GL8 minivan and Chevrolet Tracker.

In conclusion, Uzbekistan’s emergence as a production hub for the Chevrolet Tracker demonstrates a significant shift in manufacturing capabilities within the automotive industry. With a localization level of 50% in Tracker production in Uzbekistan, the company is adapting to market demands, particularly as production in China has ceased. The model continues to be assembled in Latin America as well, showcasing a broader manufacturing strategy.
