According to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, Riibe was seen with Konanki at the resort prior to her disappearance. However, spokesperson Chad Quinn clarified that while Riibe is under scrutiny, the investigation is not criminal in nature; hence, he is not a suspect. Quinn remarked, “This particular individual may have been the last one to have seen her, so is of particular interest.” Nonetheless, it is important to exercise caution regarding assumptions at this stage of the case.
Konanki was vacationing along with five female college friends from the University of Pittsburgh. Riibe is originally from Rock Rapids, Iowa, and has been attending St. Cloud State University in Minnesota since 2023. The investigation is being supported by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, the FBI, and local law enforcement as they continue to unravel the circumstances surrounding Konanki’s disappearance. Quinn indicated that numerous interviews have been conducted by the Dominican National Police in cooperation with the FBI.
