Ongoing Military Cooperation Between North Korea and Russia Regarding Troop Deployment

Military collaboration between North Korea and Russia continues with the transfer of 1,000 to 3,000 North Korean soldiers to mixed units in the Kursk region. Ukrainian forces reported successfully handling infiltration attempts from this area, while intelligence indicates additional troop deployments by North Korea to support Russia against Ukraine.
Military cooperation between North Korea and Russia is progressing, particularly regarding the transportation of troops to mixed military units. Intelligence reports suggest that between 1,000 and 3,000 North Korean soldiers were transferred to the Kursk region during January and February. This was highlighted by Andriy Yusov from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense.
Yusov confirmed that the collaboration encompasses the supply of forces, including manpower, and specifically mentioned that North Korean military personnel have not been observed in other operational sectors aside from Kursk. He emphasized that the activity of units containing DPRK soldiers continues unabated, clarifying that they are engaged in mixed units rather than separate formations.
Supplementary information from the South Korean intelligence agency indicated that North Korea has dispatched additional troops to assist Russia in its conflict with Ukraine. The reported troop movement from January to February involved the use of Russian cargo ships and military aircraft.
Furthermore, British intelligence has noted an escalation of military pressure by Russian forces in the Kursk region. Moreover, Volodymyr Artyukh, head of the Sumy regional military administration, reported that there are currently no Russian troops in the Sumy region, as all infiltration attempts from Kursk have been thwarted by Ukrainian forces.
In summary, North Korea’s military support for Russia remains significant, with thousands of troops having been transferred to the Kursk region. The ongoing collaboration emphasizes the presence of mixed military units comprising personnel from both nations. Despite the increase in military activity in surrounding areas, Ukrainian forces are effectively countering infiltration attempts from Russian units.
