Mr. Akari Loveday, the Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs to the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), has been abducted. The incident occurred on Friday along the river while he was en route to the Ayakoro community in the Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, which is also the hometown of the NDDC Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku.

According to local sources, the kidnappers intercepted the boat transporting Mr. Akari and others, forcibly pulling him into their own vessel. However, their escape was hindered when the engine of their boat malfunctioned, leading them to paddle to the riverbank, where they ultimately retreated into the nearby bush with the abducted individual.
