Since November, torrential rains in Bolivia have led to 37 fatalities, with significant destruction of homes, particularly in La Paz and Cochabamba. Authorities are issuing weather alerts as conditions are expected to worsen until April 2025, prompting government mobilization for relief efforts.

Torrential rains in Bolivia have resulted in the tragic loss of 37 lives since November 2024. Deputy Minister of Civil Defence, Juan Carlos Calvimontes, reported that approximately 16 deaths have occurred in the central department of Cochabamba. The excessive rainfall has caused significant damage, with nearly 379 homes destroyed, particularly affecting the La Paz region, where 319 homes were lost.

The current flooding crisis in Bolivia has led to substantial fatalities and property damage. Despite the government’s mobilization of resources for relief efforts, challenges remain due to the ongoing severe weather forecasted until April. It is imperative for authorities and communities to remain vigilant and prepared for potential future flooding.
