Uganda’s Electoral Commissioner Praises Ghana’s Election Integrity Measures

He noted, “I have been here since the opening of polls, and I want to thank the people of Ghana for their approach they are using. I learnt a lot of interesting facts with my team.

He emphasized the effectiveness of validating ballot papers before distribution to voters, which enhances the credibility of the electoral process. Regarding the implementation of Biometric Verification Devices (BVDs), he stated that this technology prevents unauthorized voting, thereby strengthening the integrity of the election. He asserted that using machines for verification fosters reliability, as it ensures that only registered voters at a polling station can participate. Mr. Okello concluded by remarking on the system’s effectiveness, stating, “This is all very good and it is a talking machine and everybody can hear that person has been validated.”
